Current Status
On July 16, 2026 the City of Waltham Health Department issued a public health advisory warning that harmful cyanobacteria algae is present in Hardy Pond.
In addition, Hardy Pond is on Mass DEP's current list of the waterbodies in MA reported to have harmful cyanobacterial blooms.
More Information
Exposure to this toxic algae is unsafe for people and pets. Cyanobacteria algae can take months to clear before it is safe to get back in the water. Updates will be posted on this page as they are issued.
