Summer Morning Bird Walk, July 19, 2025
July 19, 2025
Close to 20 people met at Shaw’s on the Charles for a bird walk along the river, led by WLT lead birder, steward, and photographer Emily S. Folks saw and/or heard 21 bird species, plus painted turtles (one of which was sharing a log with eastern amberwing dragonfly), and a blue dasher dragonfly.
This event was co-hosted with Brookline Bird Club and Menotomy-Arlington Bird Club.

Over 60 nature lovers of all ages came to Christ Church for a program with Rick Roth the Snake Man and the Cape Ann Vernal Pool Team . We were introduced to many snakes found in New England and the world. Members of the team walked through the audience with them so everyone could see up close and take photos. Afterwards, brave people who wanted to hold the legless reptiles were given that opportunity. Many thanks to the Waltham Cultural Council for supporting this event!
