Moonlight Guided Paddle
On August 3, 2017, twenty-four lucky Waltham Land Trust supporters participated in the first annual Moonlight Paddle fundraiser. Charles River Canoe and Kayak provided the canoes and the guides. The group departed from Moody Street at dusk and passed under the Prospect Street bridge. Informative stories were told about Nuttings on the Charles and other river attractions of a bygone era.
After paddling about 1.5 miles upstream, the canoes gathered together as a floating floatilla to share food. Margaritas provided quesadillas (where the WLT was raising money all day), plus finger sandwiches, fruit, and drinks, and desserts were provided by CRC&K. After stuffing themselves, the group slowly rode the current back to Moody Street in darkness, aided by small lights on each canoe fore and aft. Make sure you sign up early for this event next summer!
