10th Annual Meeting October 2009
Over 60 people attended the Waltham Land Trust Annual Meeting on October 21 in the Waltham Public Library meeting room. Featured speaker was Chris Rodstrom from The Trustees of the Reservations who talked about the history of land conservation in New England. This movement started right here in Waltham at the Waverley Oaks now Beaver Brook Historical Reservation. Other speakers were the Founding Directors of the Waltham Land Trust who are still members of the current Board of Directors -- Marie Daly, George Darcy III, Steve Rourke, Marc Rudnick, and Inge Uhlir. Each presented different aspects of the Land Trust's mission and activities. The final event of the event was honoring these same five Board members with the "Environmentalists of the Year" award! Cake and other refreshments were enjoyed by all.
