Stewards

Stewards help maintain our trails and open spaces. They can be as involved as they want to be, from picking up trash to removing invasive species. We meet the second Tuesday of each month between 7-7:30 pm in the conference room across from the WLT office at 240 Beaver Street. We currently have positions available along the Western Greenway trail, in Prospect Hill Park, along the Charles River paths, in the Waltham section of the Mass Central Rail Trail, and in Beaver Brook North and Historic reservations. The Waltham Land Trust has trainings for volunteers to join the growing body of Stewards. Contact us if you would like to join the team.

Volunteers from all over Waltham and our neighboring communities have joined with the Waltham Land Trust to be open space's feet on the ground monitoring trails for safe use by the public. Whether it is battling invasive plant species or picking up excessive trash, these intrepid volunteers give their time and effort to help maintain the trails.
