Help protect wetlands by installing a boardwalk on the Western Greenway.
Spend National Public Lands Day installing a boardwalk on the Western Greenway trail between the YMCA and the high school. Pending approval from the Conservation Commission, volunteers will work in two sessions to install a 104-foot long boardwalk over wetlands. Session 1 is 8:30-11:30 am. Session 2 is 12:30-3:30 pm. To encourage full day participation, a pizza lunch will provided for volunteers staying for both sessions. Instruction, tools, gloves and water provided. Bring water bottles, sunscreen and bug spray. Wear long pants/sleeves and protective shoes. Poison ivy and ticks may be present. Registration for one or two sessions is greatly appreciated but not required.
