Entomologist Roger Wrubel and local birder Jason Forbes will guide this walk through Rock Meadow, part of the Western Greenway, in Belmont.

To get to Rock Meadow from Waltham, take Trapelo Road toward Belmont. Stay on Trapelo Road through the traffic light at Waverley Oaks Road. Move into left lane. Turn left onto Mill Street. Pass Beaver Brook Reservation (on your left). Pass McLean Hospital (on your right). Pass residential streets (on your left). Turn left into driveway/road entrance for Rock Meadow. (There is a sign.) Continue downhill into parking area. If you come to a gas station on an island where Mill Street merges into Concord Avenue, you have gone too far.

Wear sturdy shoes and bring binoculars and a camera, if you have them!
