Take part of Historic Waltham Days with a short walk on Mackerel Hill and tour of the Whitney-Farrington-Cook House. We'll hear about the history of the land and house, as well as well as identify flora of the area.
Historic Waltham Days takes place all month long with events throughout the city. Two of WLT's founding members will share their knowledge of Mackerel Hill and the nearby Whitney-Farrington-Cook House (also known as the Millet House). Park and meet at Elsie Turner Field, 421 Trapelo Road across from the National Archives. We'll then hike into the woods, up the slight incline of Mackerel Hill along a trail lined with Canada Mayflower and False Solomon Seal, and then walk down to the House. We are very grateful that the owner has granted us permission to enter the house, so this will be a special treat!
