Come help extend the Western Greenway!
Friends of the Western Greenway third work day of the trail season is Saturday, June 19! This continues the work done last summer on the Western Greenway trail building project. Trail work this year will take place on and around the Shady's Pond Conservation area in Waltham. The work involved will include both trail clearing and creation as well as some boardwalk and bridge construction depending on the particular day. If all goes according to plan, the trail will be complete from Trapelo Road down to the Paine Estate by the end of the summer.
Location:
Our meeting place on June 19 is at the end of Abbott Road where you can enter the Shady's Pond area. You will see our signs and table there.
What to Bring:
We'll provide training, tools and gloves. If you like, bring your own gloves. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and clothes that will protect you from exposure to poison ivy and mosquitoes. Be prepared for wet ground and brambles.
Lunch will be provided. Bring your own water bottle! We will have water in a cooler to refill your bottles with our unlimited supply.
Register:
We ask that you register! Just let us know which day and times you are able to work. Email info@walthamlandtrust.org or call the Waltham Land Trust at 781-893-3355.
