Come help extend the Western Greenway!

Friends of the Western Greenway sixth work day of the trail season is Saturday, July 24!   This continues the work done on previous work days this summer and on the Western Greenway trail building project last summer. Trail work this year is in the Shady's Pond Conservation area in Waltham. The work involved will include both trail clearing and possible bridge construction. If all goes according to plan, the trail will be complete from Trapelo Road down to the Paine Estate by the end of the summer.

July 24 we will meet at the basketball court near the end of Brookway Road (GPS and online maps: 71 Brookway Road, Waltham). This is in the Waltham Housing Authority area and the entrance to Brookway Road is directly across from the Wal-Lex Shopping Center. Parking spaces are available next to the baskeball court. We will work 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. all days with partial day participation welcomed. Lunch will be served on all days. Bring your own water bottle. We will offer unlimited refills. All tools and training will be provided. Be prepared to encounter poison ivy and mosquitos on the trail. Work will proceed rain or shine.
