***Here are some scenes from the weekend trail building event.

We are planning a full weekend of trail work on the weekend of May 2-3. We are hoping you can join us for a portion of one of those days!

We will be working the plan to improve access to existing green space in Waltham by establishing a walking trail that will link Shady's Pond to the Storer Conservation Land. Last fall we began work in this area and we want to complete the work this spring. In addition to a trail, we will also be constructing a bridge and walkway.

Time: May 2 and 3

Early Shift:      8:30 am - 12 noon
Late Shift:      11:00 am - 3 pm

Pizza lunch and sodas will be provided at 12:00 noon for both work shifts.

Our meeting place is the parking lot of the Waltham High School, Waltham. We'll meet on the High School Road. Head up the road staying to the right as you pass the Kennedy School. A little ways up the hill, parking spots are marked along the right side -- park right there.

What to Bring:
We'll provide some tools and gloves. Bring your own gloves if you like, and a landscaping tool: rake, lopper, pick, pruning shears, etc. Be prepared for exposure to poison ivy, wet ground and brambles.

Also bring your own water bottle! We will have water in our cooler to refill your bottles but by using your own bottle we will help reduce the large, wasteful refuse of cups and plastic bottles!
